Ancient Greek mythology first coined the term "heroine" to depict bravery in the face of grave limitations. Today, this term is still reserved for the female who embodies self sacrifice and courage.
This modern heroine is held to far different standards, to say she fights fire and looks good doing it would indeed be an injustice. With a belief that this courage and boldness is at the heart of all women, Heroine Chic founder Colleen Soisson has developed her accessory label accordingly.
In 2005, the now infamous accessory brand was launched out of Chicago to great reception. Heroine Chic first began as a community of artists from varying backgrounds working to develop a platform for their designs. Presently, the label offers men/women's handmade belt buckles and women's jewelry. The brand has been sold in over 100 boutiques and showrooms in the United States as well as a recent expansion into Europe.
Since the addition of jewelry designer and creative mind Yung Bagley, the label has diversified their brand, continuing to push the envelope within the industry. Led by integrity and influenced by natural beauty, her organic, earth-inspired style is apparent in her use of metals and semiprecious gems. At the core of her aesthetic is her Japanese-Korean heritage, which is the essence of her simple yet meticulously detailed pieces.
Heroine Chicıs mission is and always has been to inspire self-expression through their products and work ethic. As the company moves into 2010 they excitedly announce the release of Heroine Chic Black Label, a limited edition line of accessories. With only one of each piece in this line being made, the Black Label Collection epitomizes exclusivity.
